BOUCHEZ is an independent Canadian graphic novel writer and creator based in the Montreal area of Quebec. He specializes in character-driven narratives that blend urban mystery, romance, high-stakes adventure, and atmospheric world-building into complex, emotionally layered stories. Working across genres that often incorporate retro-futuristic, fantastical, or dystopian elements, he emphasizes careful plotting, rich human drama, and international artistic collaborations that bring his visions to readers in both English and French.

His body of work includes titles such as The Old Man Who Spoke to Angels, The City in the Egg, Chronicles of a Bad Guy, and A Steampunk Love Story (a previous Kickstarter project exploring a quirky artist’s search for his missing fiancée amid crime and misadventure in a steampunk metropolis). These projects showcase his interest in protagonists navigating personal stakes within richly imagined settings—whether through mystery, romance, or speculative adventure—while collaborating with artists to realize visually distinctive comics.

With THE CUBE, Bouchez expands into mature, erotic dystopian territory. The four-volume graphic novel series (Volume 1 currently launching via Kickstarter with Erosetti Press) is an adult cyberpunk/art-deco thriller illustrated by the reclusive European adult-comics artist Pastor. Set in a floating city ruled by an AI that harvests human emotions (pleasure, fear, pain, and desire) as fuel, the story follows Sienna, a skilled former Neurologist turned illegal Skinner (escort) who sells authentic sensation to the elite. When a session triggers suppressed memories of a stolen past, she becomes hunted by the system that once employed her. The work treats eroticism, domination, identity, and control as integral to both the world and the plot rather than background elements, delivering a psychological and visceral narrative aimed at adult readers.

Bouchez operates as an independent creator who partners with specialized publishers and artists to maintain creative control and quality. His approach prioritizes atmospheric storytelling, complex characters, and cross-border collaborations, positioning his projects—from earlier mystery- and romance-inflected adventures to the uncompromising adult dystopia of The Cube—as distinctive contributions to contemporary graphic novels.
